Porridge!
Norman Stanley Fletcher will do time at Blackpool Grand Theatre this week. And recreating the role of Ronnie Barker's loveable jailbird in the stage version of tv comedy Porridge is former EastEnders star Shaun Williamson.
"Obviously I remember it first time around with Ronnie Barker but I stopped watching the repeats when I got the part," says Shaun. "Fletcher is embedded in the psyche so I don't really know what the audience expects.
Darren Day headling new musical
Popular Blackpool visitor Darren Day is back in Blackpool on Sunday, October 11, headlining in the new musical production Viva Broadway.
The show, which also features female vocalist Lisa Kelsey and the Showcasae Dancers, will feature music from hit Broadway shows such as Hairspray, Jersey Boys Shrek, The Little Mermaid and the Peter Allen musical The Boy from Oz.
It will also highlight Darren's own stage career in hits such as Summer Holiday, Carousel, Copacabana and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
BRIGHTENING UP BLACKPOOL'S WELCOME
More than 300 colourful banners have been installed along Yeadon Way through to the Football Club, making the entrance and welcome into the town much more vibrant.
Funded by ReBlackpool, the banners showcase some of Blackpool's world class events and have added a blaze of colour to the Central Corridor in readiness for the forthcoming summer season.
The banners provide you with information on whats happening this year and next in Britains best seaside resort.
